Those SIS Ranch Girls

A blog inspired by the lives of a family of deer residing on a Texas deer ranch.

Name:
Location: Texas

A city girl living from Las Vegas to Dallas to Chicago, now lives in the country with my husband and daughter - when she's not away at college. I have always "heard" what the animals have to say, now I have a way to creatively feature their thoughts!

Nobody Met Me Yet!

Hey All from Camp West End Deer Farm. Everyone forgot about my as I was the last baby born and by 19 I guess the excitement subsides. My Humans gave me hugs and kisses as I left my mom, Cayenne and brother and headed to hang with cousins and friends.

Camp is very cool. We get to go for walks, play and exercise. Pretty soon Star and Thief go home, but I will stay a bit longer as I have some things to learn before I go back to SIS Ranch and my brother.

I hear he is doing fine, but I know he's jealous I got to come and he didn't. But, that is what he gets for not sitting by the gate waiting to be first in line for the trip. Next time he might raise his head from the brush and see what excitement is there for him to enjoy.

This picture was taken the day I arrived and had to taste some icky green stuff and let the Humans listen to my heart and lungs. Well, all was fine and I soon joined a new camp group.

Oh, got to go, it is time to play in the yard. See y'all soon!

What? A Pest In the Nest!

Okay, you stupid squirrel. You don't get to "decide" to hang with us. You are a rat with fur. You drink my water, eat my food and generally take my delicious acorns from the trees before they fall to the ground for me!

Don't unpack. Until there is an association for squirrel improvement, you have no vote, no options should I decide to move you along.

Let this serve as warning. Leave my acorns alone or face an uncertain future.

Puck

By the way, hope everyone enjoys my quickly evolving antlers. Pretty soon I'll start shedding the velvet and they will be honed to perfection. Perhaps I'll sharpen them on that pesky squirrel!

It's Hot Out Here!

On a day like today, this pool is a nice rest for us weary squirrels. Boy, oh boy does this water feel good and I've never seen so much fresh water at my disposal. Yeah, yeah, my friends all say it is for the deer, but you don't see them lounging along the side. They just don't fit.

I also enjoy the extra snacks they leave behind for me and my friends. Thanks guys! I think I'll stay in this little spot of paradise with you and soak up the love!

A Quick Note

It's been a long, hot summer. Too hot to pose for pictures but my adoring fans have made requests.

Therefore, here's a quick shot. See? Still great looking, still as handsome as ever. Just too hot to smile.

Pretty soon I'll start rubbing off the velvet you see now and start sharpening the points. Those girls just love those points. Makes you look so "hot" as our young college human says. I don't get "hot" in her terms, but if it is "hot" girls want, it is "hot" I'll give!

I'm ready for fall when I may look "hot" but I won't actually be hot!

Puck,
Hot in more ways than one!

Who's the tallest in the land? Why, I am... Mistletoe

What? You may be taller but I do a nicer right-jab. Watch those hooves fly!....Rosemary

Doe-see doe your partner round.....takes on new meaning when the SIS Ranch girls are hanging around!
